Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Previews Opening Song for Swordsmith Village Arc

In anticipation of the “Swordsmith Village” arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has revealed the title of its opening song and the artists behind it.

During a livestream event, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba announced MAN WITH A MISSION’s collaboration with singer milet on the new opening song “Kizuna no Kiseki” for the upcoming season. Fans can hear a short snippet of the song to tide them over until the season airs.

MAN WITH A MISSION is a Japanese rock quintet who instantly catches people’s eyes due to how they wear wolf masks. Each mask has varying expressions. The band consists of leader Tokyo Tanaka, guitarist and rapper Jean-Ken Johnny, bass guitarist Kamikaze Boy, DJ Santa Monica and drummer Spear Rib. The group explained they wore wolf masks due to them being the “Ultimate Life Form” by Jimi Hendrix. During the period of time when they were frozen in Antartica, the group has been listening to different kinds of music from around the world before breaking free and finding themselves in Japan. MAN WITH A MISSION has provided the vocals for series such as The Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and Inuyashiki.

Debuting in 2019, milet is a singer-songwriter whose first studio album Eyes hit number one on the Oricon and Japan’s Billboard chart upon release. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she covered Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” at the closing ceremony. She has sung the theme songs for The Deer King, Ranking of Kings and Vinland Saga. milet had worked with MAN WITH A MISSION before with Kamikaze Boy producing Eyes and on “Reiwa.”

Created by Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Tanjiro Kamado’s quest to turn his sister, Nezuko, back into a human after she was transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji, the sadistic progenitor of all demons in existence. The “Swordsmith Village” arc will see Tanjiro travel to a secret village inhabited only by swordsmiths to get his sword repaired. While there, he meets the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuki Kanroji. Unfortunately, the peace at the village is broken with the appearance of several dangerous demons, all seeking to destroy them.

The “Swordsmith Village” arc will air sometime in April 2023.
