Attack on Titan has unveiled its final key visual for the anime, closing a 10-year legacy.
At the MAPPA Stage 2023, Attack on Titan revealed a new key visual for the second half of Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3. The key visual contains no characters and only showcases a cottage situated near the mountains. The only thing breaking the peace is the ominous shadows of two Titans looming over the landscape. A single bird soars in the sky. On the key visual are the words “See you later, Eren.”
Hajime Isayama began writing Attack on Titan in September 2009 and ended the series in April 2021 with a rather contentious finale. Serializing in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, the manga has over 110 million copies in circulation as of September 2022. Among its many accolades, the manga won the Kodansha Manga Award, Harvey Award and Pochi Award.
The anime adaptation of Attack on Titan began under the production of Wit Studio for the first three seasons. The series moved to MAPPA for Season 4. Attack on Titan revolves around Eren Yeager who yearns to see a world beyond the walls his own world is confined within. When he witnesses his mother get eaten by cannibalistic humanoid giants known as Titans, Eren is filled with rage and a hunger for revenge and he joins the Survey Corps with his childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert.
The first part of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 aired as a one-hour special on March 4, 2023. The second part will air sometime in the fall.
