Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia Nominated for Hollywood Critics Awards

Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia have been nominated for Best Streaming Animated Series at the Hollywood Critics Awards.

The Hollywood Critics’ Association unveiled the nominees for Best Streaming Animated Series or TV movie. Two anime series, Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia, have made the list. More specifically, according to Anime News Network, My Hero Academia‘s Season 6 Episode 23, “Deku vs. Class A” and Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Chapters Special 1 have been nominated. The other nominees include Star Trek: Lower Decks, Animaniacs, Harley Quinn and Central Park.

Animated and produced by Studio Bones, Season 6 of My Hero Academia aired from Oct. 1, 2022 to March 25, 2023 for 25 episodes. The season adapts the “Paranormal Liberation War” and “Dark Hero” arcs. The “Deku vs. Class A” episode focuses on Midoriya’s confrontation with his friends from Class A as the latter try to restrain him from going off on his own. Packed with both action and emotion and featuring a poignant scene between Midoriya and Bakugo, this episode is one of the highlights of the season.

The final season of Attack on Titan, subtitled The Final Chapters, aired the first part on March 4 as a one-hour special. As the Rumbling continues and Eren strategizes the rest of his plan, the special bid goodbye to one beloved character from the series. The second part, which will wrap up the decade-long series, will air sometime in the fall.

Both Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia are available to stream on Crunchyroll. The awards presentation has been delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.
