Cue the butterflies in the stomach because the anime adaptation for A Condition Called Love will premiere in 2024.

An anime adaptation of Megumi Morino’s romance manga series Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai, or A Condition Called Love in English, has been announced. The anime will launch sometime in 2024 and a teaser visual of Hotaru falling into Hananoi-kun’s arms amidst a shower of petals has been revealed. Morino also dropped a new illustration of the couple eating together to celebrate the announcement.

A Condition Called Love began serialization in Kodansha’s magazine Dessert in December 2017 and is currently ongoing. The chapters have been collected into 12 tankōbon volumes as of January 2023. Kodansha USA publishes the series Digital and announced it would begin a print publication in the second quarter of 2023.

Written and illustrated by Megumi Morino, A Condition Called Love follows high school first-year Hotaru, who has never found much luck with love and is perfectly content to live life with her friends and family, happens across her classmate sitting alone in the snow after a messy breakup. Feeling a little sorry for him, she shields Hananoi-kun with her umbrella. However, this single act of kindness prompts Hananoi-kun to ask her out the next day.

The anime adaptation of A Condition Called Love has not yet revealed production details.
