The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2 Resumes Class With Second Cour in October

The second cour of The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 will return on Oct. 5.

School will be back in session in October when the second part of The Ancient Magus Bride‘s second season airs.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride‘s production team for the anime adaptation revealed the second half of Season 2 will return on Oct. 5. The series released a teaser for the second four, beginning ominously with the declaration that the college will now be on lockdown. The second four teases intense confrontations between the students and Chise encouraging a distressed Philomela.

Created by Kore Yamazaki,The Ancient Magus’ Bride debuted in Monthly Comic Blade magazine in November 2013 before moving to Monthly Comic Garden in September 2014. The series follows Chise Hatori, an orphan who sold herself to slavery in the hopes someone may take her in. Elias Ainsworth, a Thorn Mage whose roots are grounded in mysterious origins, buys her and declares that she will be his fiancé. Elias tells her that he bought her in the hopes that he may help prolong her lifespan despite being a Sleigh Beggy.

Wit Studio adapted the manga into an anime adaptation in October 2017. A three-part prequel anime, titled The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star premiered in theatres in Japan from August 2016 to August 2017. A second three-part OVA series titled The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy From the West and the Knight of the Mountain Haze premiered in September 2021, March 2022 and September 2022. Season 2 aired from April to June 2023.

Published by Seven Seas Entertainment, The Ancient Magus’ Bride is available to read in English through various bookstore retailers. The anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll with the second four of Season 2 to premiere on Oct. 5, 2023.
