Tokyo Revengers “Tenjiku” Arc PV Previews Intense Toman and Tenjiku Conflict

Tokyo Revenger’s “Tenjiku” arc, featuring the epic battle between Toman and Tenjiku, will premiere in October.

Fans can watch one of the biggest fights from Tokyo Revengers in October 2023.

Tokyo Revengers unveiled the first PV for Season 3 of the hit time-travelling delinquent anime, adapting the “Tenjiku” arc. At the end of the second season, the anime hinted at the next conflict by introducing Izana Kurokawa, the leader of Tenjiku. The first PV opens with Takemichi’s declaration and the first meeting between Izana and Mikey. One of the most dangerous gangs around, Tenjiku wastes no time pummelling the various members from Toman without any mercy. The “Tenjiku” arc premieres in October.

Season 3 will include new cast members such as Seiichirō Yamashita (Horimiya and Black Butler) as Kakucho, Izana’s right-hand man and one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku. Kakucho has a distinct scar crossing from his skull to his eye. Kouki Uchiyama (Buddy Daddies and Haikyuu!!) will portray Shion Madarame, a former leader of Black Dragon and currently one of the Four Heavenly Kings. Daisuke Namikawa (Demon Slayer and Haikyuu!!) will voice Ran Haitani, one of the Four Heavenly Kings and first seen in Season 1 during the Valhalla conflict. Hiro Shimono (Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer) will voice Ran’s younger brother Rindo. Nobunaga Shimazaki and Tetsu Inada had already been confirmed to portray Izana and Kanji Mochizuki.

Written and illustrated by Ken Wakui, Tokyo Revengers ran from March 2017 to November 2022 in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. As of December 2022, the manga has over 70 million copies in circulation. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a despondent 26-year-old, who finds out his ex-girlfriend Hinata in middle school and her little brother were killed by a dangerous gang called Tokyo Manji Gang. He finds himself transported 12 years back in time to his middle school years when someone pushes him in front of a train. Takemichi gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he realizes he can change the events in the past to prevent Hinata’s death. As he travels back and forth in his effort to save Hinata from Toman, he discovers something happened to Toman 12 years ago that made it the way that it is and realizes he must find a way to save the leader, Mikey, first.

Liden Films adapted the popular manga into an anime in April 2021. The first season ran for 24 episodes until September 2021. The second season, adapting the “Christmas Showdown,” streamed exclusively on Disney+ and aired in January 2023 for 13 episodes. The series has also been adapted into two live-action adaptations, both of which have been well-received.

The first season of Tokyo Revengers is available on Crunchyroll. Season 2 is available on Disney+ and Hulu for U.S. viewers. Kodansha USA has licensed the manga for a digital English release while Seven Seas has licensed it for a physical English release.
