BL Novel Moumou Announces Cast for Live-Action Taiwanese Adaptation
Moumou, the popular danmei novel by Musuli, has confirmed it has started filming for the live-action adaptation.
Moumou, the popular school-life danmei, has been confirmed for a live-action adaptation, produced in Taiwan.
As reported by Yahoo! Taiwan, the live-action adaptation of Moumou has begun production. Liu Dongqin will play Sheng Wang, the studious and snarky high schooler while Benjamin Tsang plays the quiet Jiang Tian. Liu Huang Hui, who previously directed Your Name Engraved Herein, will direct the adaptation.
Liu recounted his first impression of Tsang, saying the latter might have been a little tired on account of how late the night was. “He looked rather aloof […] He was quite similar to the book’s Jiang Tian.” Tsang’s first impression of Liu was that the young man was someone cute and handsome but that changed after a short period of time, saying, “He’s very perceptive and thoughtful. I’m quite happy I can discuss things like the characters and things in life.”
Tsang and Liu both had different ideas on how to portray the relationship between Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian. Tsang wanted to suggest to the director to include a diving scene, saying “Having only two people in the enormous ocean would make for a beautiful picture!” Liu believed learning how to tango with Tsang would help cultivate a deeper understanding of Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian’s chemistry and relationship. “Tango is a dance about two people,” he said. “There’s not much of a distance between the two and you can use your heart to feel the other person.”
Written by Musuli, Moumou, which roughly translates to A Certain Someone, tells the story of Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian. Sheng Wang, who has never known what family is, suddenly finds his two-person family expanded to include his classmate Jiang Tian and his mother. However, Sheng Wang wants nothing to do with the cold and aloof Jiang Tian. As time passes, Sheng Wang discovers a softer side to Jiang Tian and soon their feelings grow until they become a special someone in each other’s hearts.
